Overview
The Holy Family's journey began in Egypt, so why not visit and learn about their journey? The first stops on any trip to Egypt should be the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, Memphis, and Saqqara. Take a tour to Tell Basta and Belbeis to see the historic temples. Visit the landmark Virgin Mary Church in Sakha. They visited the monasteries of Wadi El-Natrun, including Al-Baramous, Anba Makar, Anba Bishoy, and Al-Suryan. Sightseeing at Christian sites in Cairo, including the Hanging Church, Abu Serga, and Saint George. Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Minya. Travel from Luxor to Aswan on a Nile cruise and unwind after a busy holiday.
Tour Plan
Day 1: Arrival
Reception and assistance at Cairo International Airport. Transfer to your hotel via A/C car. Overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Day 2: Great Pyramids and Sphinx, Memphis and Saqqara
Breakfast. Start your tour by visiting the pyramids and the Great Sphinx, and continue to Memphis and Saqqara. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Day 3: Tell Basta and Belbeis
Transfer to (Tel Basta), and visit the Holy Well that is supposed to have emerged from the ground upon the arrival of the Holy Family, then see Bilbies. Where the Holy Family settled in the shade of a tree known as (the tree of the Virgin Mary). Visit St. Gerges Church, then return to Cairo. Overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Day 4: A tour of Al-Sakhah and Samanoud
After breakfast, transfer to Sakha, about 140 km north of Cairo. Visit the famous Church of the Virgin Mary. Explore Jesus' footprint. They were then moved to Samanoud, where the Holy Family crossed the Nile River to Samanoud inside the Delta—visiting Mar Abanoub Church. There is also a holy well from which the Holy Family drank. Then back to Cairo. Overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Day 5: Wadi El-Natrun tour
After breakfast, move to Wadi El-Natrun, explore Al-Baramous Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in the region, then head to Monastery of Anba Makar, head to Monastery of Anba Bishoy, and end your tour with a visit to Al-Suryan Monastery. Then back to Cairo. Overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Day 6: Cairo churches
After breakfast, move to the Hanging Church and explore Abu Serga Church, then visit St. George's Church and explore Babylon Castle in Old Cairo. Then go to Mostorod, where you will see the Virgin Mary Church and prepare to visit the Holy Well and the famous sacred marriage tree in Mataria. Then back to Cairo. Overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Day 7: From Cairo to Minya
Breakfast at your hotel, and transfer to Maadi, where the Holy Family moved to the south in a boat across the Nile River, where the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary is located. Where you can explore the book, this may be a sign that the Holy Family passed through this place. Move south to Minya, where you'll explore a wonderful church in Minya's Jabal al-Tair. Transfer back to your hotel and overnight in Minya.
Day 8: Minya - Dandara - Luxor
Breakfast at your hotel in Minya, and transfer to the White Monastery. You will also see the Monastery of Al-Muharraq in Assiut, known as (The Monastery of the Virgin Mary in Al-Qusaya). End of Holy Family Travels Continues your way to Luxor city; on your way, you will visit Dendera Temple. Transfer to your hotel in Luxor and stay the night in Luxor.
Day 9: Luxor Nile Cruises
After breakfast, transfer to your Nile cruise, and check out your Nile cruise before lunch; lunch will be served on board; enjoy a private excursion to the East Bank, Karnak Temple, and Luxor, dinner on board your cruise, and overnight in Luxor.
Day 10: Luxor Nile Cruises
After breakfast to West Bank, visit Valley of the Kings, proceed towards Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and continue sailing to Edfu via Esna; lunch will be served on board while sailing through Esna lock, and dinner on board your cruise, overnight Overnight in Edfu.
Day 11: Edfu and Kom Ombo
After breakfast, transfer to Edfu Temple, lunch will be served on board, next sail to Kom Ombo, enjoy tea while sailing, visit Kom Ombo Temple, sail to Aswan, dinner on board, and overnight in Aswan.
Day 12: Aswan River cruise on the Nile
Breakfast on board, then visit the High Dam, the unfinished obelisk, and Philae Temple. Lunch, afternoon tea, dinner on board, and overnight in Aswan will be served on board.
Day 13: Aswan - Cairo
After breakfast, disembark from your Nile Cruise. (Optional tour to Abu Simbel temples), Transfer to Aswan railway station, and take the sleeper train to Cairo. Overnight on your sleeping train.
Day 14: Arrival in Cairo
Arrival at Giza Train Station Transportation to your hotel for free day check-in at your Leisure. Overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Day 15: Check-out
Check out after breakfast, then transfer to Cairo Airport to catch your international flight.
